Scientific scopes/ competences:

Mechanisms of muscle contraction adaptations in various conditions (immobilisation, tendinous transposition, hindlimb unweighting). Effects of chronic sepsis on contractile, electrophysiological properties (sodium currents) of limbs and diaphragm muscles. Effects of pro and anti-inflammatory factors on striated muscle.
Screening of biomarkers and potential therapeutic targets for prevention of intensive care unit acquired neuromyopathy.

Electromyography in situ in animal models, contraction in whole muscle, macropath clamp on native skeletal muscle fibers.

Lung function testing in adults, children & infants.
